read about us in Issue 33 of Theatre Forum,
along with the full script of Welcome to Nowhere

Welcome to Nowhere is one of the most beautiful, integrated, and disturbing meditations I've seen in quite some time. - Steve Luber

A daring performance about memory and identity. Welcome to Nowhere captures beautifully the psychic haziness it takes on as a major theme. - Village Voice

This is something entirely new and rule-breaking that quietly explodes some of the conventional ideas of what theatre is, and it's staggering. - Patrick Lee

Part road movie, part fractured memory, part love story...
Welcome to Nowhere (bullet hole road) is a hybrid of theater and cinema that explores the violence and sexuality found at the heart of the American Road Movie.

During the performance, a constant stream of video is projected above the cast. In scenes of prolonged stillness, silence and impassivity, doppelgängers of the characters we meet onstage navigate a hyper-real cinematic landscape as if lost in a dream. These parallel narratives echo, reflect and refract each moment of the play.

Part totem pole, part time machine. A very beautiful show, of rare visual and poetic power. - Les Inrockuptibles

The whole production is so uniquely compelling--controlled to the point of ultimate enthrallment--that you won't soon forget this show. - Aaron Riccio

The video sequences in Welcome to Nowhere are so beautifully shot they put most major films to shame. - Off Off Blogway

The live performers’ softly spoken words are amplified by microphones that frame the claustrophobic, boxlike structure that surrounds them. Referencing filmic styles of performance, underplayed and restrained, they tell the story of a man who is haunted by his past, drifting across America.

This continual juxtaposition of stage and cinema is one of complement, complication, and contradiction, suggesting multiple ways to interpret relationships between characters and to disentangle perpetually shifting narrative fragments.

The show draws you into an intimate embrace, as if the characters are whispering in your ear while you watch their dreams. - Gothamist

Discover Temporary Distortion...intimate theater for our time. - Le Monde
